Dr. Abdul Malik elected unopposed Balochistan CM
Saturday, June 8th, 2013 2:44:36 by Tahir KhanDr. Abdul Malik Baloch was on Saturday elected Chief Minister of Balochistan unopposed.
He was nominated by Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), National Party (NP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q). JUI-F also announced support that led to his election unopposed.
As no other candidate filed nomination papers for the slot today till 2:00 pm which was stipulated time for filing of papers.
JUI-F which had nominated Abdul Rehman Khetran as its candidate for the slot but after talks it decided to not field him and supported Dr. Abdul Malik.
He earlier met JUI-F leaders who announced their support and decided not to contest against him.
Later talking to media‚ Dr. Abdul Malik said that he will take along all political forces to improve situation in the province. He said every possible measure will be taken to bring peace and uplift of the people.
He said his government will focus on restoration of peace and ensure to end the practice of kidnappings and throwing bodies.
Malik will take oath on Sunday.
