Balochistan CM vows peace, end to corruption
Sunday, June 9th, 2013 5:30:42 by Tahir KhanBalochistan Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Maalik Sunday promised to take all possible steps to restore peace in the province and put the province on the path of progress and prosperity.
In his maiden address at the Provincial Assembly session in Quetta on Sunday‚ he invited all the armed organizations in the province to come on table for negotiation.
“We all will have to jointly work to restore peace in the province”. He said the tribal conflicts will also be resolved through talks.
The Chief Minister said that stern measures will be taken to end corruption. He announced to close the secret funds. He said a transparent system of accountability will be introduced and no one will be spared in this regard.
Dr. Abdul Maalik said that non-Muslims will be provided complete security and their rights will be safeguarded.
The Chief Minister thanked all the political parties for electing him unopposed in the House.
Earlier‚ Balochistan Assembly unanimously elected Dr Abdul Maalik Baloch as Chief Minister.
All 55 members present in the House‚ who met with Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali in the chair‚ voted for Dr. Abdul Maalik.
No other candidate had filed nomination papers for the slot.
Dr. Abdul Malik is a joint candidate of PML-N‚ National Party and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. JUI-F also supported Dr. Abdul Malik.
