Interior Minister says gov’t ready for militant talks
Sunday, June 16th, 2013 8:25:20 by Tahir KhanInterior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said on Sunday that the PML-N gov’t standby its policy of dialogue with militants to end the bloodshed in the country.
Speaking to reporters in Quetta he said the gov’t will hold talks with those who are willing to talk. He however said the gov’t will come with a same response if the armed groups only pursue militancy and terrorism. He visited family of the deputy commissioner who was killed in Quetta hospital attack.
The Interior Minister said that the government would restore peace in the country at all cost, adding, “we would heal the wounds and convince those who are aggrieved.” He asked all sections of the society to cooperate in this regard.
The Interior Minister said that a meeting would be held in Islamabad on June 20th to chalk out a strategy for restoration of peace.
Fresh and transparent decisions would be taken to restore confidence of the people. He said that Quaid-e-Azam Residency at Ziarat would be reconstructed to its original shape in the minimum possible time. He said that necessary steps would be taken for protection of all national monuments in the country.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali said that gallantry awards will be awarded to those who lost their lives in terrorist attacks in Quetta yesterday. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved families. He lauded the service DCO Quetta who was martyred in terrorist attack yesterday. He said that the DCO was a dutiful and self made person.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that collective efforts will be made to protect people and develop the province.
Earlier‚ Information Minister Pervez Rashid and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan visited the Quaid-e-Azam Residency at Ziarat on the special directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
They inspected various parts of the residency and estimated damages caused to it due to the yesterday’s terrorist attacks.
National Party leader Mir Hasil Bizenjo also accompanied the federal ministers.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that Quaid-e-Azam residency would be reconstructed within three to four months time.
He said the residency is our national heritage and policy would be evolved to fully protect our all national heritage sites.
