Bomber kills 3 in Kabul, MP survives attack

“Eyewitnesses say that the explosion took place in front of the building of the Human Rights Commission in Kabul city and the target of the attack was Haji Mohammad Mohaqeq, a member of Afghan parliament. It has been confirmed three people were killed and a number of others injured in the incident,” the report said.
Reports said that a suicide attacker exploded his explosives near the motorized convoy of Ustad Mohammad Mohaqeq, who is the Wahdat Party leader.
“Three people were killed and a number of others injured in this suicide attack. One Ranger vehicle was destroyed in the area. Some police soldiers were either killed or injured in this attack.”
Security officials said that the target of the attack was the convoy of Mohammad Mohaqeq who were passing through the area. “Ustad Mohaqeq was not hurt in the incident,” local media reported.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that three people had been killed and five others injured in the explosion, reports said.
No group claimed responsibility. The authorities blamed Taliban for such attacks.
The attack occurred at a time when the foreign forces complete security handover to the Afghan forces.
The NATO secretary general was scheduled to attend a ceremony in Kabul along with President Hamid Karzai.
