Postmortem report says foreigners killed due to firing

The spokesman of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences‚ Islamabad said bodies of the tourists will be handed over to the concerned diplomatic missions on their contact.
Earlier‚ eleven persons including nine foreign tourists have been killed in firing by terrorists on their camp in Diamir District. President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the attack on foreign tourists in Fairy Meadow area of Diamer‚ Gilgit Baltistan which resulted in death of 10 foreign tourists from different countries.
Expressing his deep shock and sorrow over the unfortunate incident‚ the President said that such acts of barbarity would not be tolerated and urged the concerned authorities to take stern action against perpetrators of the heinous crime.
The incident took place at Buner area at the base of Nanga Parbat.
The tourists belonged to Russia‚ China‚ and Ukraine. Two Pakistani guides were also killed in the incident.
Security forces have started a big hunt for the assailants.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan has constituted a special police investigation team under DIG Gilgit region‚ Ali Sher to probe the incident.
The team reached Chilas‚ headquarters of district Diamer.
DIG‚ Ali Sher told said that all routes leading to the scene of the incident have been cordoned off.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif taking strong notice of the killing of nine foreign tourists and two Pakistani guides in a terrorist attack in Diamir‚ has directed for immediate arrest of the terrorists.
Foreign Office spokesman in a statement in Islamabad said the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz spoke to the Ambassadors of China and Ukraine and expressed condolences on behalf of Pakistan government on the killing of tourists.
He said the Prime Minister also directed to bring the terrorists to justice.
Others who have condemned the incident included Governor and Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan‚ Speaker and Deputy Speaker National Assembly and Federal Information Minister.
