British PM begins unannounced Afghanistan visit

A government source in Helmand Province told the media that David Cameron reached Helmand Province late Friday visited the British Shorab base in Helmand Province.
This source adds that he will meet Helmand provincial officials and then he will depart for Kabul.
According to this source, David Cameron will also appear in a press conference after meeting President Hamed Karzai.
He is likely to arrive in Pakistan later in the evening where he will meet Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and they will also hold talks on the Afghan peace process and several other issues.
The British prime minister visits Afghanistan at a time when the British defence minister yesterday announced that they will hand over at least 10 Afghan inmates to the Afghan government.
It should be said that tens of Afghan inmates are imprisoned by the British forces in Helmand Province and the Afghan government has demanded them to hand the inmates over to the Afghan government.
After reports of torture in Afghan prisons Britain postponed handing over Afghan inmates to the government of Afghanistan.
