Militants attack check post near Peshawar, kill 6 soldiers

The militants also kidnapped three soldiers after the attack, they said.
The attack prompted clashes between the two sides and the police said that 10 militants were also killed.
Sources said that nearly 200 armed militants launched a pre-dawn attack at a check post of the Frontier Corps (FC) in the Kishan Ganga area of Peshawar, capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
The militants used heavy weapons, hand grenades and rockets in the attack. The check post was completely destroyed in the attack, locals said.
The clashes, which broke out early Wednesday, continued till morning. The attackers fled the scene after the security forces showed stiff resistance.
Three FC personnel went missing in the attack and they could have been kidnapped by the attackers, said security sources.
The injured security men were shifted to a main hospital in Peshawar. Hospital sources said that three injured were registered critical.
No group claimed the responsibility for the attack. Security officials said that Taliban militants launched the attack.
