Bomber kills chief security advisor to President

Chief security advisor to the President, Bilal Shaikh, was killed in a bomb blast in Karachi Wednesday evening, police said.

 

Police said the bomber hit car of Bilal Shaikh which also killed his driver and owner of a road stall owner near Gurumandar area.

 

Seven people, including security officials, were injured in the attack.

 

The injured were taken to Jinnah Hospital, where three of the injured were described to be in a serious condition, health officials said.

 

Slain Bilal Shaikh was travelling in his bullet-proof car when the bomber approached his car, killing him at the scene.

 

No group claimed responsibility. The Taliban are blamed for such attacks.

 

President Asif Zaradi and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack.
