PM: Pakistanis in Saudia send $ 3.7 billion remittances per annum
Thursday, July 11th, 2013 1:49:43 by Tahir KhanPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Thursday that Saudi Arabia is home to 1.5 million Pakistanis who contributed heavily for the development of the country through their about $ 3.7 billion remittances per annum.
He was talking to Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Salih Al-Ghadeer, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister appreciated that the Saudi leadership has always stood by the people of Pakistan during challenging times. He also lauded Saudi Arabia’s important role in promotion of global peace and stability.
The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings to the leadership and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close and cordial relations and that it would be the endeavor of his government to take the bilateral relations to new strategic heights.
The Prime Minister conveyed his sincere prayers for the good health of HRH King Abdullah.
Official sources said that the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia also came under discussion.
They said Nawaz Sharif is likely to visit to the Kingdom by end of Ramazan. It will his first visit to Saudi Arabia since he has assumed office last month.
