Two blasts kill 3 in Karachi

At least three suspected bombers were killed and two others injured on Saturday evening in a bomb blast in southern port city of Karachi, official said.
Superintendent of police Imran Shaukat said that the incident took place when a group of five people were busy in assembling a bomb in a house located in the Patel Para area of Karachi.
At least three people were killed on spot and two others injured in the blast that spread panic in the area.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the Jinnah Hospital where one of the injured was reportedly in critical condition.
A wounded person who was still conscious as he sustained little injuries was later arrested by the police.
The police officer said that they would soon start interrogation of the arrested person once doctors allowed them to do so.
According to bomb disposal squad, the miscreants were making bomb with refined quality of explosives, ball bearings and nut bolts but it exploded due to short-circuit.
The intensity of the blast was so high that it destroyed everything inside the house besides smashing window panes of the nearby buildings and vehicles.
Neighbors of the house told local media that some unknown people hired the house a few weeks ago and they had no contact with anyone in the area.
In another incident earlier in the evening, at least one person was killed and three others were injured when unknown miscreants targeted the vehicle of metropolitan commissioner with a remote-controlled bomb blast in the Hassan Square area of the city.
The commissioner sustained minor wounds at his legs while his guard succumbed to injuries in the hospital during treatment.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
