Three NATO soldiers killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

Three foreign soldiers died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
The ISAF statement did not give more details about the incident.
Afghan media reported that an Afghan interpreter was also killed in the suicide attack on joint forces in Sayedabad District of Wardag Province.
The spokesman for the governor of Wardag Province, Ataollah Khogiani, told Afghan Islamic Press that a suicide attacker, who was riding a donkey, carried out the suicide attack on the joint forces in the Soltankhel area of Sayedabad District Tuesday morning, and inflicted eight casualties on the joint forces.
He added that three foreign soldiers and their Afghan interpreter were among the killed people.
The governor’s spokesman said that four Afghan National Army soldiers were injured in this attack as well and the health condition of two soldiers was reported serious.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that a Taliban Abdullah Wardag carried out the attack through his explosive-packed car when the American soldiers were standing outside the US base.
He said that 17 US soldiers were killed and over 20 others were injured while four tanks were also destroyed.
