3 die in blasts near ISI office in Sukkar

A series of bomb blasts, targeting office of security agencies in Sukkar, killed at least three persons and injured several other people Wednesday evening, witnesses and police said.

 

The blasts occurred in Barrage Colony of Sukkar in Sindh province, they said.

 

Residents said they heard at least four blasts within 20 minutes that were followed by firing.

 

The blasts created panic among the locals and people were seen running for safety.

 

TV channels showed several injured were being shifted to hospitals.

 

Police said the blast happened near the office of the major intelligence agency ISI and the paramilitary force, Shehbaz Rangers.

 

Hospital sources said that nearly 20 injured people were brought to the main hospital.

 

The security forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.

 

No group claimed responsibility. The government blames Taliban for such attacks.

 

 The law enforcement agencies disallowed the journalist to go close to the attack site.

 Some sources said that the blasts also occurred inside the ISI headquarters, injuring several people.

The blasts also caused damage to the ISI building and nearby houses.
