Pakistani Taliban claim responsibility for Sukkar attack
Thursday, July 25th, 2013 11:10:18 by Tahir KhanPakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack on the ISI office in Sukkar which has killed nine people including intelligence officials.
A Taliban commander told the media the TTP Mohmand chapter and the Punjabi Taliban jointly carried out the attack Wednesday evening.
The unnamed commander rejected the claim by a Taliban faction Jundullah group that it has organized the attack.
Ahmed Marwat, the purported spokesman for the TTP Jundullah Group called journalists to claim responsibility for the attack.
Marwat had claimed that the attack was revenge for the death of TTP deputy chief Wali-ur-Rehman Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone strike in North Waziristan tribal region in May. He said the group had sent four bombers to “achieve the target.”
The TTP Jundullah group had earlier claimed responsibility for the attack on security forces.
