Army to be deployed at sensitive polling stations

The Election Commission extended the request in a meeting with army officials in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
By-polling will be held on August 22 after Eid.
Meanwhile‚ the Election commission has sought report from Returning Officers about flood affected constituencies.
The commission has said poling scheme could be changed if circumstances are not feasible in flood hit constituencies for holding bye-elections.
By-elections are to be held in sixteen National Assembly and twenty six provincial assembly seats.
Some reports say that the floods can affect by-elections in some affected areas.
The Commission Tuesday also directed all political parties to submit their asset certificates by August 29.
It is directed that the statement should contain an accurate financial position of the party.
The Commission said that the prescribed printed forms are available free of cost in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and in the offices of Provincial Election Commissioners, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Under Political Party Order, 2002, a party, which fails to submit its statement of accounts under Article 13, will not be eligible to obtain election symbol for contesting elections for the Parliament and Provincial Assemblies.
