Gunmen kill nine outside mosque in Quetta

Unidentified gunmen Fridsay shot dead nine people outside a mosque in Quetta, police said.

Police said over twenty others were injured when the gunmen opened firing on the people coming out of the mosque in the city’s Eastern Bypass area after offering Eid prayers.

According to police‚ former Provincial Minister Ali Madad Jatak was the target of the assailants‚ but he remained safe.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident is outcome of tribal feud, state radio reported.

 

The incident occurred a day after a suicide bomber killed at least 30 policemen in Quetta at a funeral. Nearly 50 others were had been injured.

Meanwhile‚ one person was killed in another firing incident on Saryab Road in Quetta today.

 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned Quetta firing incident.

Deploring the loss of precious lives in the incident‚ he said the nation is facing the monster of terrorism valiantly and expressed the confidence that the menace of terrorism will be overcome soon.
