Balochistan to get all resources to restore peace: Nisar
Sunday, August 11th, 2013 7:00:55 by Tahir KhanInterior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Sunday that all available resources will be provided to the Balochistan government to restore peace in the province and put it on the path of progress and development.
Talking to media along with Balochistan Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch after chairing a meeting of law enforcement agencies in Quetta‚ he said federal government will provide training and equipment to the provincial government to tackle the law and order situation in the province.
The interior minister said that Chief of Army Staff has also extended complete support to the provincial government in this regard. He said five thousand SMGs will be provided to the provincial security departments.
He said Pakistan Army will also provide training facility on emergency basis to the provincial law enforcement agencies for their capacity building. He said there is a strong need of coordination among the law enforcement agencies.
The Interior minister said work on the national security policy is underway and it will be announced in near future. He said we are facing unseen enemy and the policy will be formulated in such a way to effectively counter this enemy.
The federal minister said the purpose of his visit is to express solidarity with the government and people of Balochistan on behalf of the federal government and the people of the country.
To a question the Interior minister said there is no threat to the country on the borders but we are facing internal threats.
The minister also announced gallantry awards for those martyred in the incidents of violence in the province.
The interior minister said despite big incidents of terrorism morale of our security forces is high and expressed the hope that our security agencies will win the war against terror.
He said the war has been imposed on us and we will have to jointly fight to defeat our enemies. He said all the institutions including judiciary‚ security and political forces must be on one page and be taken on board to take this war to the logical end.
