Malala Yousafzai gets highest national award
Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 8:21:43 by Tahir KhanPresident Asif Ali Zardari‚ acting on advice of the prime minister‚ has approved conferment of National Awards upon eminent personalities, including Malala Yousafzai, for their services in different spheres of life.
The awards include Sitara-i-Shujaat‚ Tamgha-i-Shujaat‚ Sitara-i-Imtiaz‚ President’s Award for Pride of Performance‚ and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Five foreign national have also been awarded for their services to Pakistan in different capacities
Malala Yousafzai, who was injured in Taliban attack in Swat in October, will be awarded Sitara-i-Shujaat.
The president also approved conferment of Quiad-i-Azam Police Medals and President’s Police Medals upon 15 personnel of Punjab Police; 21 personnel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police; 11 personnel of Balochistan Police; 5 officials of Islamabad Police and 2 of the Railways Police.
President of Pakistan will confer Non-Operational Military awards upon 24 Officers of Pakistan Air Force on the occasion of 67th Independence Day of the country.
The awards include 02 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military)‚ 09 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 13 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
