National Assembly condemns Indian LoC firing
Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 9:46:43 by Tahir KhanThe National Assembly has passed a unanimous resolution condemning the unprovoked aggression by Indian military forces across the Line of Control in recent days.
The resolution condemned the attacks on Pakistani High Commission and demonstrations outside PIA offices in New Delhi and stopping of Pakistan-India Friendship Bus. It also deplored public anger in India.
The resolution said that Pakistan will continue to extend diplomatic‚ political and moral support to the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris for the realization of goal of self-determination as enshrined by UN Security Council resolutions.
PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said LoC ceasefire is an important CMB between India and Pakistan which gave relief to the Kashmiris on two sides of the border.
He said escalating tension between the two countries should be addressed through diplomatic channels.
PPP’s Dr. Nafeesa Shah condemned the Indian aggression. She appreciated the people of Pakistan for not getting provoked and said the internal reaction in India is condemnable.
She said the Kashmir issue is still alive on the UN agenda and as the UN Secretary General is on a visit to Pakistan we should raise the Kashmir issue.
Earlier‚ initiating the debate‚ Shaikh Rashid Ahmad said India is escalating tension on LoC under a well thought out conspiracy against Pakistan.
He said no issue between India and Pakistan has been resolved in the last sixty-five years despite efforts of the Pakistani governments. He said India involved in incidents of terrorism in Balochistan.
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad said the Prime Minister should give a policy statement on the situation and preparations by the government to tackle the worsening situation.
