Four people die as blasts rock Karachi, interior Sindh

The blasts occurred as Pakistan is set to celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday amid tight security measures.
Police said unidentified people riding on a motorcycle threw explosives inside “Jamaat Khana” of Agha Khan group on Shara-e-Pakistan area during evening prayers.
Police said that that the explosive material was concealed in tennis ball and contained around 200 grams of explosives and ball bearings.
A police officer Saleem Akhtar Siddiqui said that a woman and a man who were sitting on the benches in the Jamaat Khana were wounded as a result of the blast.
Cracker explosions also occurred in Hyderabad and Nawabshah, two main cities in Sindh province of which Karachi is the capital.
Unidentified men threw a cracker in a bazaar in Nawabshah and fled. The explosions in Hyderabad took place in Lateefabad area. Two people died and several injured in the blasts.
Police and witnesses said the terrorists mostly targeted stalls which were selling Pakistani flags ahead of the Independence Day.
