PIA to commence flight operation to Kashgar on Wednesday
Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 4:46:01 by Tahir KhanThe Pakistan International Airlines flight PK 1855 and 1856 Islamabad-Kashgar-Islamabad will operate every Wednesday by A310 aircraft with a capacity of 223 economy class seats and carrying 15 tons of cargo.
On the initiatives being taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Pakistan-China economic coordination‚ the PIA has introduced the said flight to Kashgar on the auspicious occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
The flight will not only generate revenue for the national flag carrier but also provide an additional avenue to business and trade professionals in Pakistan and China.
PIA Managing Director Muhammad Junaid Yunus said that the national airline was trying to maximize its revenue while curtailing cost and would introduce flights to new destinations and increase frequency of its existing flights on profitable routes after induction of narrow body fuel efficient aircraft in its fleet.
The PIA is already operating twice a week flights to Beijing‚ China‚ every Thursday and Sunday.
