Islamabad police arrest armed man after PPP Zamrud Khan’s bravery

Police in Islamabad late Thursday arrested an armed man who had relatively held parts of the Pakistan capital of hostage for over five hours.
The man, who entered the sensitive area of Islamabad, had been demanding enforcement of Islamic system in the country.
Sikandar Hayat belonged to Hafiz Abad district Punjab province, carrying a Kalashnikov and a sub-machine gun‚ in a car resorted to aerial firing on the Jinnah Avenue near Red Zone in Islamabad near the key buildings including the Presidency and Parliament House and several embassies.
Hayat’s wife and two children were also with him in the car. The lady also received bullet injuries at her leg as she tried to save her husband, police said.
Police commandos overpowered the man shortly after a leader of opposition Pakistan Peoples Party, Zamarud Khan, tried to hold the man. As Zamarud Khan shook hands with the children he ran towards the armed man but he opened fire him. He escaped unhurt. The police commandos then fired at Hayat who received two bullets at legs and fell down on the road.
The police transferred Hayat to the nearby hospital and also arrested his wife, who was seemed accomplice in the whole drama.
Hayat had earlier told a private TV channel via phone, that he wants implementation of “Nizam-e-Mustafa.” He said the Muslims are in trouble and face humiliation in the world.
“I do not care if I am killed by the police,” Sikandar said. He refused to surrender to the police and to allow his children go out of the car. He said the children do not want to go with the police.
Sikandar’s father-in-law, Niaz Lekhwera, said his son-in-law had some mental problem but he did not expect such action from him. He said Sikandar had gone for picnic with his wife and children.
“My daughter called me and said that Sikandar had fired near the parliament and is now in trouble,” he said.
He appealed to Sikandar to surrender to the police to save the life of his children.
The police raided his house in Hafiz Abad but did not arrest anyone as all members of his family had already gone into hiding.
Residents said that the whole family of Sikandar had gone from the town as TV footage showed the armed man involved in a drama with the police in Islamabad for hours.
Police seized his passport, identity card and some narcotics from his house. A contingent of police was also deployed outside the house.
Sikandar’s neighbours said that he is mentally sound and that they did not expect such action from him.
Some sources said that he had associated with a religious group and his father in law said he had no extremist approach.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered the police to try to arrest the man alive for investigation.
TV channels also reported that the man belonged to “Lashkar-e-Tayyeba” group and had been financier of the group in some countries.
The man stayed for two nights in an Islamabad hotel before the drama was started. The security agencies arrested three men from the hotel to question them as to how an armed man stayed in a hotel.

Out of whole episode, Mr. Zamrud khan and Mr. Rizwan (Police personel) deserves Medal on their act of bravery at the moments of terror.
The role of Intelligence agencies and the silence of PML (N) government creates serious doubts in my mind. Prime Minister remained absent from the scene, well to be very honest, when PM was unable to provide security to Jasmine Manzoor so what to expect from him.
Upon critical analysis it is evident that 3 important perceptions were portrayed on whole world i.e
1) The safest area of Pakistan is reachable and can be targetted.
2) Pakistan law enforcing and intelligence agencies can be very easily deceived.
3) Islam can be enforced by threats and guns.
The armed man was not a true follower of Islam. Involvement of India cannot be neglected here.
I am not an extremist but in my opinion the man should be hanged in front of whole nation at the same place in Islamabad.
Moreover today, i have witnessed worst parenting in my life when a father was firing at random and mother trying to escape, without their childrens. What a shame !!

1_why the PMLN MAKING Drama.know i think people now that thy can not hand-all flood satiation.and they want to focus the media is other said. 2_why zamarod khan where are hamza sharif, Rana Sanaullah and other ledor.
A 5 hour stand out. Pakistans capital city under serious threat. The army standing helpless, the government official hiding in their homes and safe houses. Finally in the end a leader comes takes a brave yet stupid action. The mad man lost his leg brokes his nose and endangered lives of his family members.
I actually agree with Humair that the particular man should be executed so that no other mad man should ever do this extreme madness. I am really proud of our armed forces who till the end tried to save lives of people, of offcials, of the mad mans kids and wife & of the mad man committing suicide.
Every where is this world, if some one plans a public suicide the police and army try to reason with that particular person and try to save a life.
Although the execution shall not be public but the janaza should be to comfirm the execution is done. So that no one else should do this again to Pakistan.

Where was PML-N Interior minister chaudhry nisar because he was missing for 4 hours and its his responsibility to secure Islamabad. if he can,t then he should resign as Interior minister. Rather than praising Zamarud khan he is criticizing him.It is height of shame. If the same act has been done by some PML-N clown. They would have made him hero and pasted his posters across the Pakistan. I advise Rana Sanaullah and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to review their lacklustre performance and give credit to Zamarud Khan.
