Islamabad police seizes explosive-packed car

A police officer said one hundred and twenty-five kilogram explosives were concealed in the car in a house in Barakahu area.
The non-customs paid vehicle was taken by the police. The explosives were hidden in doors and CNG cylinder of the car, bearing registration number HK-522.
The bomb disposal squad reached the spot and diffused the explosive material and shifted the car to the Barakahu Police Station.
The police arrested Malik Hamad, owner of the house, officials said. He is being investigated at a police center. It is not clear if Malik Hamad owned the car or his friend or relative brought the car there.
According to police, the explosive material was to be used in terror activity in Islamabad. Police have sealed the entire area and launched a search operation. However no further arrest was made.
Sources said that the intelligence agents passed on information to the police who raided the house early Saturday.
The security agencies say the vehicle was to be used in a suicide attack possibly on one of military installations in the country.
Police sources said owner of the house is brother of a police office.
A senior police officer told the media that they are interrogating the suspect and will share information with the media at a later stage. He said that the investigation is at initial stage.
In another development, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad granted fourteen-day judicial remand of the accused Anwar Hameed in Bhara Kahu suicide attack case.
Anwar Hameed who was arrested in Kurram Agency two-days back had allegedly facilitated the suicide bomber Zakaullah.
