Cabinet set to approve APC decisions on Taliban talks

Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, presides over meeting of the federal cabinet to accord approval to the decisions of the All Parties Conference, officials said Tuesday.  

The APC Monday unanimously called upon the federal government to initiate talks with the militants to end bloodshed in the country.  

Mr Sharif had also insisted that talks should be given priority as the country has suffered a lot due to terrorism.  

The cabinet was called a day earlier of its schedule in view of the importance of the issue.

The cabinet will endorse the APC decisions that will formalize the recommendations.

Taliban Monday welcomed the APC’s decisions and wanted the government takes more steps towards the peace process.

The APC decisions have raised hopes for the peace process that can pave the way for peace in the country.

The Prime Minister pointed out in his opening remarks that over 40,000 people have lost lives and the country suffered a lot.
