Shahzeb’s family sets to leave Pakistan after “taking blood money”
Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 12:47:11 by Tahir KhanFamily of Shahzeb Khan, a 20 year youth, who was brutally killed in Karachi last year, is set to leave Pakistan after taking huge money for the blood of slain son.
Family denies any money deal however no one is ready to accept their claim. Many on social media has angrily reacted to the shady deal’s reports and messages are still pouring in to condemn the move.
Sources close to Shahzeb’s family in Karachi say that members of the family have started meetings with relatives in Karachi before leaving the country.
An application submitted in the court, Khan’s family says they have forgiven the killers without ‘taking any money.’
This notion is contrary to what slain Khan’s parents had stated following the tragic incident.
The people watch with shocks the smiling faces of the killers, the rich goons of Sindh, in TV footage whenever they are produced in the courts. They even waved after the court had handed down them punishment.
Smile of the killers show that they had already entered some sort of understanding with the family of Shahzeb and were waiting unless the money is transferred into the bank account of Khan’s father, some source say.
Shahrukh Jatoi, who was accompanied by his friends, Siraj and Sajjad Talpur, shot dead Khan on December 25, last year. They had a fight after the Talpur’s servant, Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, harassed Shahzeb’s sister.
An anti-terrorism court had awarded death sentences to main accused Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur and life-long jail terms to Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari in June.
Shahzeb’s parents – DSP Aurangzeb Khan and Ambreen Aurangzeb – said Monday they have decided to pardon the culprits in the “name of Allah.” They have further requested for their release. They submitted affidavit at Sindh High Court.
Jatoi had fled to Dubai after the murder with the help of some officials at the Karachi airport. The police had also arrested his father Sikandar Jatoi for some days.
Some sources say that Shahzeb’s father has also sold out his flat in Karachi ahead of his departure to Australia.
Sources say that the money deal was struck outside Pakistan and it was kept secret may be because they feel shame to enter into such shady deal.
The money deal reports over the past two days have been under severe criticism as thousands had supported the family after the brutal murder.
Legal experts say the family has received ‘Deyat” money however the court can keep the killers in prison because of charges of murdering a young man intentionally.
Sindh High Court raised objections at the affidavits presented by parents of Shahzeb’s family.
Aurangzeb’s lawyer, Mehmood Alam Rizvi, says that the parents have presented the affidavits in the court and it is now up to the court to give verdict.

This article tries to show Shahzeb’s parents in a bad light. My opinion is that they have been threatened and coerced into pardoning the murderers. Donot for a moment think that the Talpurs and Jatois would sit back and allow the law to take its course. They will use every method in the book and a simple one would be to ask Shahzeb’s family whether they want to live or not. This is clearly a case of coercion and the fault actually lies with the courts who took such a long time to hand down the verdict in an open and shut case. The sentences should have been carried out months ago!
