PM Nawaz Sharif arrives in Ankara
Monday, September 16th, 2013 9:21:37 by Tahir KhanPrime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday evening arrived in Ankara on a three-day official visit to Turkey on the invitation of his Turkish counterpart.
He was warmly received at the Airport by the Turkish Minister for Urban Planning and Construction.
Briefly talking to him on the occasion‚ the Prime Minister Pakistan and Turkey enjoy everlasting relations of friendship. He said close cooperation among the two countries will rid them from external pressure.
During his stay‚ the Prime Minister will hold meetings with President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan to discuss ways and means to further strengthen bilateral relations in diverse fields.
He along with President Abdullah Gul will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Cooperation Council. The council is mandated to oversee and steer the unique partnership and intensify cooperation between the two countries.
The two countries are expected to sign several Memoranda of Understandings and Agreements covering areas such as housing‚ education‚ culture and trade.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also address a Business Forum in Istanbul to be attended by a large number of Turkish investors and entrepreneurs.
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif‚ Finance Minister Ishaq Dar‚ Minister of State for Privatization‚ Khaurram Dastgir Khan‚ Minister of State for Housing and Works Usman Ibrahim and Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatimi are accompanied the Prime Minister.
