Nawaz Sharif conferred highest Turkish award

Turkish President Abdullah Gul conferred upon him the award at a special investiture ceremony at the presidential palace.
Speaking on the occasion‚ the Turkish president paid rich tributes to the prime minister for his contribution to bring further close the two countries.
He said Pakistan and Turkey enjoy very cordial relations and expressed the confidence that these will touch new heights in the years to come.
In his remarks‚ Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif thanked the Turkish president for conferring the highest award on him and said it is a testimony to the unique relations that thrives in the hearts of our two peoples.
The Prime Minister said both the countries need to work continuously towards exploring new vistas of cooperation in different fields.
Nawaz Sharif he will work closely with the Turkish leadership in the years to come for collective good of the two peoples.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif laid floral wreath on the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Tuesday.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister said, “It is a great honour for me to pay homage to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk –the father of modern Turkey. Ataturk’s visionary statesmanship united the Turkish nation and chartered the course of modernity and progress. Ataturk is revered in Pakistan as a truly great visionary leader”.
“The people of Pakistan have a special affinity for our Turkish brothers and we desire to strengthen our strategic partnership with Turkey. I have no doubt that together we can achieve greater prosperity to realize our common destinies”, added the Premier.
