Eid-ul-Azha on October 16 as Zilhaj moon sighted
Sunday, October 6th, 2013 10:18:06 by Tahir KhanEid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Pakistan on October 16 (Wednesday) “Zilhaj” moon was sighted in parts of the country, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee said Sunday.
The moon was sighted in Quetta, some other parts of Balochistan and parts of Sindh.
The Zanal Moon Sighting Committee in Quetta announced sighting of the moon.
The Central Committee met with Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee‚ Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman‚ in the chair.
The Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees were also met at their respective provincial headquarters.
Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee‚ Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman‚ presided over the meeting.
The Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees also met at their respective zones.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says “Eid-ul-Azha” had already stated that Eid is likely to be celebrated in the country on October 16 (Wednesday) as there were strong indications the Islamic month “Zilhajj” could commence from Oct: 7.
