CNG to shut down in Punjab for three months

It has been decided by the Pakistani government that all compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Punjab will be shut down for at least three months, starting from November 1st. This news comes as a shock considering that Punjab is the most populated province of the country.
The Federal minister for petroleum, Mr.ShahidKhaqanAbbasi, recently came out in the open and told the reporters that since there will be a shortage of natural gas during winters, all CNG stations in the province of Punjab must close down from November to January in order to meet the day-to-day supply of the fuel.
He explained how Pakistan is currently suffering from a shortage of gas. This has happened because of the vehicles being used in Pakistan are running on CNG since it is a cheaper alternative for diesel and petrol.
The gas supply of Pakistan was already quite burdened and now the sudden shift to motor transport has made things worse in the country.
Pakistani households also use gas as a fuel for domestic usage. Therefore, Mr.ShahidKhaqanAbbasi stated how this daily usage of natural gas is far more important as compared to motor transport. He said, “Our first priority is domestic consumers during the winters, so there will be no gas for motor transport in Punjab.”

Sir, there are no reports about other provinces. For now Punjab will not be getting any CNG because of its high population.
