Pakistan wins World Team Snooker Championship

Pakistan took part in the World Team Snooker Championship and had to face Iran in the final of the competition. The Greens were able to win their first ever World Team Snooker Championship in their history after they won the final 5-3 on Sunday.
Pakistan fielded two reigning world amateur champions in the shape of Muhammad Asif and former Asia’s number two, Muhammad Sajjad. The pair was able to beat the Iranian duo in the IBSF 6-Reds World Championship.
The match started off with Asif and Sajjad already having an extremely good run of form in the championships. They were able to beat Poland, India and Ireland in order to pave their way into the final of the competition.
The match saw Pakistan making a stunning comeback during the game. While facing the Iranian duo Pakistan went 3-0 down. While many thought that the game was over with Pakistan already 3 down, Asif and Sajjad made a stunning comeback into the game after they were able to win 5 consecutive games to make the final score-line 5-3.
The final of the World Team Snooker Championship took place in Carlow, Ireland and saw Pakistan lift the trophy for the first time in the history of the sport.
