Blast in Afghanistan wedding leaves nine injured including children

Sources have reported that a bomb blast during a wedding in northern Afghanistan has left nine people injured including children.
The Taliban, who are opposed to wedding parties, entertainment and functions, are often behind similar incidents in the country; however, no group has come forward to take responsibility for the blast as yet.
Gawar Khan Babur, district governor of Baghlan-e-Markazi said, “Last night a wedding party was under way in Baghlan-e-Markazi of Baghlan province, and an improvised explosive device under the tent exploded, wounding nine civilians.”
The district governor added that two people who were injured in the blast are in critical condition.
According to the police chief of Baghlan province, Asadullah Shirzad, the attack injured men and children and no high profile official was present in the wedding.
