Political parties submit resolutions against US drone strikes in Pakistan
Monday, November 4th, 2013 2:43:46 by Ahmad MehdiAccording to sources, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has submitted a resolution in the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK) assembly against American drone strikes.
The JUI-F leader Maulana Lutfur Rahman has put forward the resolution in the assembly secretariat in Peshawar.
The issue of drone strikes has been a problem for Pakistan since the American war on terror took to the northern region of the country, where suspected militants have been targeted using unmanned aerial drones.
Where it is claimed that operations have been successful in eliminating threats, the civilian casualties have been a major concern for humanitarian organizations and the country’s population.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) also submitted resolutions in the Punjab and Sindh assemblies earlier, urging the government to block Nato supplies and take the matter of drone strikes to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
