24-hour ban on Pillion riding in Karachi

The Sindh Government recently came out in the open to give a notification to the bike riders of the city of Karachi, stating that they will not be allowed to carry a passenger with them for 24 hours, on Friday.

 

According to reports this ban has been levied upon the city in order to ensure security while Wafaqul Madaris Alarabia are planning to strike after what happened in Rawalpindi on 10th of Moharram.

The provincial education minister has stated that all schools, colleges and universities will remain open in Sindh whether they are public or private institutions; and even if they are a part of Karachi.

 All the marketplaces, business centres, and petrol pumps are also expected to remain open while the CNG stations are going to be closed from 8AM to 8 AM – 24 hours.

Most transporters have claimed that they will assess the situation before they bring their vehicles on the road.
