Fact Finding Committee holds Police responsible for the Ashura Clashes

The three member fact finding committee which had been constituted by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the wake of the fatal sectarian clashes on the 10^th of Moharram has reportedly submitted its first draft. According to this document, the police and the law enforcement agencies have been held responsible for the clashes which left many people dead and caused a huge loss to property.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that after detailed discussion from the police, eye witness and members of both the groups, it has been established that the police failed to carry out its duties properly and could have stopped the incident from occurring had it been vigilant.
