General Raheel to take army’ command tomorrow

With the tenure of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff coming to an end, it is being said that General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani is going to hand over the command of the army to the newly chosen Chief of Army Staff, Raheel Shareef.
It is being reported that General Raheel will be taking the helm of the Pakistani army on Friday and it is going to be General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani himself who will be doing the honours of transferring his position to General Shareef.
In order to do so, a change of command ceremony will take place. This will happen in the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, on Friday.
Kayani is famous as a quiet general of Pakistani politics. This is because despite a lot of political, economic, security and power concerns, Kayani never really intruded in the politics of the country.
General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani came under the spotlight when he was presented with the honour of being the Chief of Army staff back in 2007 when the former President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf retired. Back in 2010, Kayani was to retire as his tenure was over but Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani decided to extend his term as the Chief of Army Staff.
