Justice Nasir Ul Mulk made Acting CEC

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has given the final verdict on Chief Election Commissioner’s position. It has been decided by the CJ that the new CEC is going to be Justice Nasirul Mulk.
The new CEC is going to take the oath on Saturday and they he will be taking charge of his seat.
The previous acting Chief Election Commissioner was Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, who decided to resign from his position on Friday.
Right after Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani decided to leave his post as the CEC, ECP requested the Supreme Court to appoint a new Chief Election Commissioner.
Sources also claim that Justice Tassaduq has decided to leave his post as the acting CEC only to approve his new role as the Chief Justice of Pakistan after the current CJ is going to retire in mid-December.
