Karachi Remains Tensed on Wednesday Morning
Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 9:52:26 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Karachi that parts of the city remained tensed as there were less transport vehicles seen on the road.
The locals want to sit home in order to avoid any further violence after the incidents which took place in Karachi yesterday. It was reported on Tuesday that a Shiia Aalim and a member of a Tableeghi Jamaat were both shot dead yesterday and that is the reason why people believe that there could be a riot in the city today.
The Shiia Aalim was gunned down by two unknown motorcyclists, who were carrying arms. On the other hand, a member of the Tableeghi Jamaat was shot dead on university road later during the day.
This is the reason why the parts of the city have remained closed as the city observes a partial strike. There were fewer vehicles seen on the road and the people of the city are trying to escape any violence which might occur today.
Karachi is famous for such incidents where two people’s death later becomes a death toll of several more. That is the reason why fewer people are travelling and they have closed down their businesses for today.
Even in the affected areas, the public transport is less than normal. Moreover, the examinations which were scheduled in certain universities have been postponed. The main road of the city, also known as the M.A. Jinnah Road is also partially closed by containers, which is causing a lot of problem for the workers who want to reach their destinations on time.
Majlis Wahadat ul Muslimeen (MWM) has publicly announced that they will be observing a three-day mourning and protest.
