Chaudhry Nisar Talks About Elections Tribunals
Thursday, December 5th, 2013 7:10:19 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Islamabad that the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, stated on Thursday that the problems which were caused during elections were all due to the Election Tribunals. He stated how checking the thumb impressions was their job and they were not able to perform it.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chariman, Imran Khan, raised a point regarding justice retired Wajihuddin and how he failed to fulfil his duties during the elections.
While talking about the elections procedure and how the problem could be solved, Imran Khan said,
“We had called for verification of thumb impressions in 40 constituencies instead of four, but the verification process should be carried out in 272 constituencies.”
The Interior Minister, however, claimed that the interim government, along with the Election Commission, should be held responsible for all these problems.
He also claimed that the removal of NADRA chairman, Tariq Malik, was uncalled for. He stated to the lower house of the parliament that the verdict of the court will be taken under consideration and will be strictly followed.
Nisar also stated that Mr. Tariq Malik was reluctant regarding the audit of the accounts of NADRA and claimed that next time the NADRA chairman will be selected under the NADRA ordinance.
