Mehmood, Tanvir to Represent Lions in South Africa

It was recently reported by the Pakistan Cricket Board that the former Pakistani all-rounder, Azhar Mehmood, and the fast bowler who made it into the Pakistan squad for South Africa, Sohail Tanvir, will both be participating in the Twenty 20 competition held in South Africa and they will both be representing Lions.

While it is going to be Azhar’s first ever experience in the Lions, Tanvir has already played for them in the past two seasons.

Azhar Mehmood is a famous figure when it comes down to the T20 format and he will be getting a glimpse of South African domestic T20 game after trying his luck in Cape Cobras last season.

However, last season he was not able to impress the fans and was only able to get 8 wickets in the 7 games he featured for.

Even though Azhar Mehmood will feature for the Lions this season, he is only available to them for five games while Sohail Tanvir might be present for the whole season.

While talking about signing for the Lions, Azhar Mehmood said,

“I am really happy to have signed for Lions. I love playing cricket in South Africa and to be playing with such a successful and talented group is a real buzz. Hopefully I can add something to the team on and off the field and contribute to another successful campaign. I can’t wait to join up with the boys and get going.”
