Barcelona Square with Atletico Madrid in La Liga
The Spanish champions, Barcelona, are experiencing a dip in form after their main star player, Lionel Messi, picked up an injury and will be out of action for at least 5 more weeks.
The Catalan giants do not really perform at their best with their star striker, Messi, not being in their ranks and this can be seen from the last two results which they have produced.
The Catalan giants first lost the match against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League and now they have picked up another loss in the Spanish La Liga.
The three-point lead which they were maintaining over the second-place, Atletico Madrid, is now over and now both the teams are placed at 40 points each.
La Blaugrana are favourites to win the Spanish La Liga but without Lionel Messi it is going to be difficult, especially after a change in management as Tito Vilanova had to quit because of health problems and now Tata Martino has taken over the management responsibilities at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona will now be taking part in the Copa del Rey, also known as the Spanish Cup. He Spanish champions will be facing Cartagena while being away from home and are yet again favourites to win the tie.
