Elections for Local Bodies end at Midnight
Friday, December 6th, 2013 9:10:26 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Quetta that the election campaign for the Local Bodies’ election ended at 12:00 midnight on Friday and the polling will begin on Saturday morning.
Sources claim that all the necessary arrangements have been made for the 2013 Local Bodies Elections that are expected to begin on the 7th of December.
There are 4350 seats which are being competed for and 3.2 million voters have already registered themselves to vote for their favourite candidate. The by polls will take place after December 7th as 503 seats will remain vacant during this time.
Six million ballot papers have already been printed for this cause.
Most of the political parties are participating in these elections including the likes of PML-N, PPP, National Party, BNP, BNP (A), ANP, JUI-F, Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hazara Democratic Party and Mutahidda Qaumi Movement.
Several parties have also formed an All-Parties Democratic Alliance. On the other hand, Jamhoori Watan and Haq Na Tawar have both decided to boycott these LB polls.
54446 security personnel have been deployed in Balochistan, just to develop the needed security which the voters are going to need when they are going out to vote.
Pakistan Army helicopters will also be ready in case the situation gets out of hand.
