It was reported from Washington that the Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, stated that he will only sign a security pact between US and Afghanistan in case US agrees to end the airstrikes on Afghan homes and does more to make peace with Taliban.

A national assembly came forth in order to endorse the deal last month but Karzai stated that he would want his successor to sign this agreement. He also claimed that he is only willing to sign this agreement if US is willing to end the airstrike raids on Afghan homes so that there are no costs on Afghan people.

However, the US envoy claims that the costs of the Afghan people are rising because of the fact that Afghanistan is delaying to sign the security agreement between the two countries.

James Dobbins, while talking about the Foreign Relations Committee stated

“The delay in signing is causing the Afghan currency to slip in value, capital to flee and property values to drop.”

He also stated that this whole situation is going to make it hard for US and all the other nations to plan for troops and other assistance after the year 2014.
