Pakistan Welcomes Special Olympics Team

The Special Olympics team came back from Australia after enjoying a successful campaign. The Pakistani team managed to return with 51 medals from the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games, making the whole nation proud of what they have managed to achieve over the years.

The games were being held in Newcastle, Australia, and after managing to showcase their talents in the previous Olympics, Pakistan decided to send their special sportsmen/women this year round as well. They had the opportunity to win 60 medals and they were able to win 51, out of which 23 are gold.

Pakistan team’s coach, Ishrat Zehra, came out in the open to talk about the event and how the hard work has paid off. She said,

“The children were awarded for their hard work and now it is the responsibility of the government to support them.”

The Pakistani team landed in Karachi after coming back from Australia and representing Pakistan in the international event. There were several people who were there to welcome the team that managed to win so many medals.

The returning players were all smiles and were showing their medals to the public, displaying what they have won. They all claimed that they were proud of representing Pakistan in Australia and will be looking forward to win more gold for their country.
