It was reported from Karachi that after months of reviewing the scenario it has been decided that the elections for the Local Bodes of Sindh are going to take place on 18th of January and not in March as it was scheduled before.

At first these elections were postponed due to the busy schedule during Moharram ul Haram. The 9th and 10th Moharram holidays required a lot of attention from the government and the elections were postponed to a date which was not informed to anyone.

However, now, after a meeting was held in the Chief Minister House on Friday, it has been decided that these Local Bodies elections are going to take place on 18th of January 2014.

The Sindh Infromation minister, Sharjeel Memon, is the source of information of this date as he came out in the open and claimed that the Sindh Government has agreed upon 18th January 2014 as the date on which these elections should be held.

It was most recently revealed that the Election Commission of Pakistan was requested by the Sindh Government to extend the date of these Local Bodies elections but they dismissed it for the second time. Now the governing body has requested the Sindh Government to step up and hold these elections in mid January.
