It was reported by the police department from Athens that Greek authorities have arrested four Pakistani nationals after they were accused of smuggling migrants. Moreover, these four Pakistanis also had eight Syrians captive in a house near the capital city of Greece and the police force helped free them.

While addressing the press regarding the situation, police said:

“The four arrested Pakistanis are members of a criminal organisation specialising in snatching and illegally smuggling migrants, who were kept captive and forced to pay money.”

Police also helped in freeing eight Syrian nations from the house and they were all reportedly chained and were beaten up badly.

The Syrians were asked to communicate with their relatives, who were asked to make specific payment in order for them to get released. Moreover, these Syrians were deprived of food and water throughout the time they were held captive.

The authorities were notified by two other Syrians who were held hostage in the same house but managed to escape.

Greece is considered to be an important part of Europe as all refugees and migrants feeling from Africa and the Middle East first land in this country.

Refugee traffic has died down over the past few years.
