MQM Contacts PTI and PML-N over LB Elections

The Local Bodies Elections is an agenda which has been touching the nerves of the Sindh Government since the past three months.

At first the elections were delayed because of Moharram Ul Haram. The Sindh governing body claimed that the month of Moharram is going to require their utmost concentration. Moreover, they also stated how Sindh is going to require a lot of security due to the security threats in the province during the first Islamic month.

Later, it was requested by the local governing body to extend the date for the LB elections. However, the elections commission did not agree to extending the date of these elections again and now they are going to take place in the mid of January 2014.

With regard to how the Local Bodies elections are going to take place in January, it has been reported from Karachi that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has contacted Pakistan Tehreek e Insan (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League N (PML-N).

Sources claim that MQM, PML-F, PML-N and PTI are expected to submit a requisition in order to call an assembly session in Sindh.

MQM are currently of the video that there should be a debate in the assembly regarding the amendment ordinance of the local government.

It has been stated that MQM has already invited PTI, PML-N and PML-F to join hands with them in order to submit this requisition.
