KPK and Punjab Hit with Thick Fog
Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 11:05:23 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Lahore that many cities of Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were under a thick fog on Wednesday. This caused a lot of trouble for the normal routine life of the people. There was less visibility and the vehicle movement was slowed down. The Allama Iqbal International Airport was also not operational for a lot of hours.
The flight station in Multan is now back on track and flights are finally arriving as the fog thinned down. However, the people travelling through motorway are finding it hard to travel since thick fog is still present in the area of Multan and Kasuwal.
On the other hand, things have been extremely difficult for Lahore. There is a thick fog surrounding the area and the city is almost paralyzed. There is almost no traffic scene on the road and the Allama Iqbal Airport is still not functioning to its fullest. Moreover, the railway schedules have been badly affected as well.
Faisalabad and Gujranwala are also experiencing a lot of problems as locals are not getting out of their homes due to less visibility in the morning. The traffic on the road was less than usual.
Moving to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, things were no different. The motorway that leads to Peshawar has seen almost no cars since morning and people are not risking travelling through the motorway due to thick fog.
