23 Militants Killed by Security Forces in North Waziristan

It was recently reported from Miranshah that during a clash that took place in North Waziristan, the security forces killed as many as 23 militants.

 Sources claimed that the militants were trying to target convoy which consisted of security forces personnel. The convoy was returning from Khajori check post late at night and when the attack took place, the security forces were able to bring down 23 militants.

The attack which was made by the militants is described as follows:

A suicide bomber tried to ram his explosive-laden truck into a military check point near the Khajori area of Mir Ali subdivision, which is in the North Waziristan Agency. This mini truck caused a lot of damage and killed a few security force personnel.

The officials who were also eye witness to the event stated that at least five soldiers from the security forces were killed while at least 42 were injured during the attack.

After the incident was over, Ansarul Mujahideen militant group came out in the open and claimed the responsibility of the attack. They stated that this attack was made to avenge the death of the TTP leader, Hakimullah Meshud.

An unknown caller claiming to be Abu Baseer made a phone call to reporters in Kohat and stated that Ansarul Mijahideen are taking full responsibility of the suicide bombing.
