IHC Suspends Notice Regarding CNG Closure
Friday, December 20th, 2013 3:58:17 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the case regarding CNG closure was taken to the Islamabad High Court and it has been decided that it is going to be open in the cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
There has been a lot of problem surrounding the gas load shedding in the capital city of Pakistan. Islamabad has not been receiving gas supply on a daily basis and the vehicles are currently running on oil rather than gas.
A notice was passed by IHC earlier which stated that CNG supply will be closed for an indefinite period of time. However, recently another notice was passed by the Islamabad High Court and they stated that Islamabad and Rawalpindi should not close down the CNG stations and they must reopen immediately.
Justice Shaukat Aziz was the one who heard the case and gave the final verdict. He issued a stay order and claimed that the government should reopen CNG supplies for the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Sindh encountered the same problem two days ago when it was decided by the Sindh Government that CNG pumps should be closed throughout Wednesday. However, yesterday another notice was passed which stated that all CNG stations should reopen.
