United Nations Passes Resolution Against Drone Attacks
Friday, December 20th, 2013 3:59:46 by Ahmad MehdiIn recent news it was revealed that United Nations has passed out a resolution which disallows America to utilize its drones outside of their own country.
This has been a problem for the Pakistani population for quite some time. Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, has been pleading the Pakistani government to take action against the drone strikes. In his pursuit to do so, PTI even decided to strike against the US drone attacks as they stopped the NATO supplies from entering and leaving the country.
This caused havoc and now UN has passed a resolution which states that US will not be attacking Pakistan through their drones at any cost.
Upon hearing the news, Pakistan has welcomed the whole situation. A government official claimed that this simply signifies that the whole world is siding with Pakistan on this matter. Since the resolution was unanimously passed by different countries from around the world, it means that majority of the countries are against US drone strikes and against the fact that several innocent people are dying in the process.
A spokesperson said:
“This resolution cannot be compared with other resolutions of the Security Council as there is no institutional mechanism for implementing this resolution.”
