Ice Storm Haunts Canadian Power Supply
Monday, December 23rd, 2013 9:41:58 by Ahmad MehdiIt has been reported from Toronto that a strong ice storm has brought in freezing rain throughout the Eastern part of Canada. This has cut down power supply for hundreds of thousands of people and is currently causing havoc to the holiday plans for everyone. Moreover, travelling through air is not an option even though this is considered to be the busiest time of the year for all the travelling companies.
The utility companies and other sources from the Canadian energy supply companies have stated that at least 400,000 customers are experiencing power outages. Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Waterloo and other important areas are not receiving any power at the moment. The crews are struggling to bring back the service for their customers but for now it has been hard for them.
It has been reported that this storm is currently the worst in the history of Toronto.
It has stranded several passengers who are currently waiting at the airport to move out in order to enjoy their holidays.
This storm is drawing comparisons to the deadly ice storm which hit Canada back in 1998. 24 people died in that storm and 3 million were left without any power.
